Thanks to its many vegan options, it is also an excellent option for those on a vegan or vegetarian diet. Over in nearby Andersonville is Jin Ju, one of the city’s best Korean restaurants. Jin Ju serves many traditional Korean favorites and offers a welcoming ambiance. 

 

One of Uptown’s most iconic restaurants is The Green Mill, a historic jazz club made famous by Al Capone. Search for the corner booth where he used to sit to transport yourself back to a bygone era. The Green Mill offers a slice of Chicago history. Other popular Uptown and Andersonville restaurants include Anteprima, Vincent, and Hopleaf.

For many, one of Uptown's greatest perks is its access to music and culture. Uptown has one of the highest concentrations of music venues, both modern and historical, of any Chicago neighborhood. 

 

Two of the neighborhood's most iconic music venues are the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom and the Uptown Lounge School. Founded in 1926, Aragon Ballroom is a legendary music hall known for turning out some of the world's most famous music acts. Today, Aragon Ballroom is still one of the city's most popular music venues, hosting many live shows throughout the year. Uptown Lounge, a hip and modern music venue that hosts live DJs, is one of Uptown's biggest hot spots. Another historic concert venue is The Riviera Theatre, a live theater venue hosting many shows annually. 

 

Andersonville also has many cultural and entertainment options, including the Andersonville Midsommarfest, one of the neighborhood's most buzzworthy events. Every year, Midsommarfest attracts crowds of 50,000 or more, making it one of the city's most popular cultural events.
